The NeISS Project has collaborated with other institutions and The Guardian on a study to investigate the use of social media around the time of the summer 2011 riots in the UK.  The study has provoked a lot of interest in the media.  In addition to the reports in The Guardian, it has been reported widely including via the BBC's news site.
